Classes at Cerulean Arts

Cerulean Arts studio offerings include something for all levels, from novice to practicing professional.  Instruction will be provided by a group of professional artists and teachers, led by Michael Kowbuz, in a relaxed and supportive environment. The gallery and studio opens out onto a leafy, secluded backyard offering a pleasant landscape setting in the warmer weather.

Courses
Structured courses will last for 6-8 weeks, 2-3 hours per week. Class sizes will be limited to 6 - 8 people. Fees will begin at $180 per course, plus materials and model fees, if applicable. Topics include:

    • Drawing Fundamentals
    • Painting Fundamentals
    • Still Life Drawing and Painting
    • Figure and Portrait Drawing
    • Landscape Drawing and Painting


Workshops
Lasting from one to several sessions, studio workshops will focus on specific topics related to drawing, painting and other mediums including gold-leafing, fresco, papermaking and glassworks.

Critiques
Individual critiques for aspiring artists and practicing professionals seeking feedback and guidance. These will be individually scheduled for your convenience. Fees begin at $50 for a two-hour session.

Open Studio
Open sessions in the evenings and weekends allow artists the opportunity to work from the portrait and life model in extended poses, for a modest fee. Instruction available.

Lectures
Guest speakers will lecture on a variety of topics related to art, artists, art history and contemporary art.
