Dooley
Doodles come in various colorful shapes sorts-some are women,
some men and some are something in between. There also squares
and rectangles; folks have seen books, ice cream sundaes,
themselves and their Aunt Agatha in various doodles. When
you visit Cerulean Arts, look over the Dooley Doodle cards
to see what YOU see in them.
The Doodler, Maurine Dooley drew hundreds of images while
attending meetings and talking on the telephone during her
career working in educational and nonprofit management jobs
in Philadelphia, New York and New Jersey. Folks started
asking for the images which led to Dooley Doodle greeting
cards for sale at Cerulean Arts.
My
name is Will McCaffrey, in my line of glass figure work
I go by Torchkid.
I make a wide range of glass figures which vary in shape
and size either being fantasy or very realistic with the
technique of flame or torch working. This method of glass
working differs from glass blowing in that details are added
while the piece is within a superheated flame as opposed
to molten glass being shaped as its cooling.
The technique is highly refined and used in developing equipment
for research and development where exact tolerances must
be met. Growing up in Southern New Jersey, I was highly
trained in this at an early age making experimental apparatus
and lasers for California's Silicon Valley. Though I found
this work challenging and monetarily rewarding I felt the
need to create and be an independent artist. In 1979 I left
a job in the aerospace industry and never went back!

Molave
Designs LLC is the outgrowth of over thirty years experience
in the collection of tribal and colonial material from the
Philippines. Our initial interest in baskets and textiles
expanded to artifacts and furniture made of beautiful native
hardwoods such as molave and narra. In recent years, contemporary
design has become our focus. We believe that the craftsmanship
and creativity of Philippine designers and artisans is unrivaled.
